Running...but not really

LOVING Lady Antebellum right now, and their new song "I Run To You". Some of the lyrics I especially like...

I run from hate
I run from prejudice
I run from pessimists
I run my life
Or is it running me?
I run too fast
Or too slow it seems
I run to you.

....................................

I'll run to you!

....................................

However this weekend, I wasn't really running...nope, a snail's pace was more like it. Saturday we fed in the morning and looked at new baby calves with our good friend Paul (Whom our dog Austin was super excited to see! She loves Paul.), and then headed to the Jensen's to brand.

Some pics from that wet, rainy day...made me feel like I lived back in the valley!

---Yes, it is not raining in these pictures, as these are from when things were just getting started. That is because the pictures I took when it was raining are on the other camera, whose cord I conveniently cannot find to download them...stay tuned.

You'll notice there are no pictures of me working. That is because I didn't, really. Except for the bale of hay RJ and I picked up that Clint and Kevin lost off of their feed truck...that we did pick up and take to feed. Other than that, I spent most of the day hanging out with the kids and Lindsay, and maybe watching a 1/2 hour of "Toddlers and Tiaras" while Mack was taking a nap. Fun. And funny.

You'll also notice there are no pictures of our branding. That's because we didn't. Snow + rain + baby calves DO NOT = branding conditions! Next week though!

P.S. Thanks for dropping off my Muck boots Lindsay. If we keep getting this weather, I'm going to need them.

Showing Up

During lunch, I just read an article by Jeff Newtson, OWGL President that was titled "Never Underestimate the Power of Showing Up"....

What would happen if each of us showed up for one another? How much of a difference could we make in someone else's day?

"Showing up" is easy...the only commitment we make is of our time, and how easy is that?

..........................................

Speaking of showing up, look's who showing up at our house this weekend!

We're excited that Paul is "Showing Up" and we can't wait to hear about vet school....

And my sister Lindsay is "Showing Up" after her Spring Break trip to Montana. -Shown here at State Fair trying to steal a carmel apple from a poor, unsuspecting child! :-)

And Clint is "Showing Up" with a bull for a customer in Washington today after a visit to Wade and Kara in Idaho...

And our friends are "Showing Up" on Sunday to help us brand our small herd of cute, red babies!

....................................

Thinking about all of our wonderful friends, and how we can "Show Up" for them...

Creativity...

This weekend at convention, Clint turns to me and says "I think we should make shirts for the chapter that say FFA Sire on them."

Well, my mind automatically goes to...

Or maybe...

Or even...well, we won't go there.

But definitely not...

"You know, FFA S.I.R.E. Like, be in FFA, Success Is Reason Enough"

Nope, didn't even go there. But that is a much better place to go!!! The PR kids had a great time...at least they acted that way! :) And we had a great time hanging out with them and helping them achieve success.

Thanks C, A, T, K, K and T for a great weekend!

Trusting and praying...

Praying for this little boy and his family whose faith is amazing!

Prayers for Stellan
