Managing.

I've been working on managing at work.

Workload.
Programs.
Employees.
Delegation skills.
Following through.
Responses.
Attitudes.
Efficiency.

Managing.

Part of the job description, and always an area where there's room for growth.

Lots and lots of room to grow in, actually.

"The conventional definition of management is getting work done through people, but real management is developing people through work." - Unknown

.....

I went to HHS today to talk to the freshman career's class.

You should have seen the looks on their face when I told them what the salary range was for an individual who works for FSA.

Managed not to laugh at loud.

But then again, I did follow the 19 year old who talked about pumping gas.

So many bright, attentive, hopeful faces....

.....

What are you managing right now?

Work?
Kids?
Emotions?
Home?
Finances?
School?

Whatever it is, I wish you grace!

  2. I manage on a daily basis not to curse the fact that your boss makes almost double what I do without having the masters degree I have! But I don't manage that very well... ;-)

Like he says, they're going to pay someone to do it, so it might as well be him!
