Before.

Clint came home with great news the other night....they're starting to work on our house!

A fresh coat of paint, new carpets in some spots and cleaned carpets in others, and a few items fixed....and we will be in business!

I can hardly wait until this weekend to go buy patio furniture! If I can find time.... :)

Ahem. Sorry - I've been a bit obsessed with finding an affordable patio set, and when I was at Costco last week with Lindsay, they had fabulous wrought iron chairs for $20 and benches for $40....and I've been so worried that they'll be sold out before I can get back up there with a pickup!

Anyway, I was over at the house last weekend, and snapped a few "before" shots...

They aren't painting the outside (it doesn't really need it) but I thought some of you might like to see it.

And I'll be sure to show you the "after" shots too!

One thing that won't change, is the great view we have out the living room window!
Love it!

In search of the prize.

The Murdock & Browning families were kind enough to invite us over for Easter lunch and festivities, so after church we headed over to Josh & Bryn's.

300 easter eggs + fun people + great food = One great afternoon.

And there was even an "egg" hunt for the adults!

Before lunch, and after all of the kids were out of sight, the adults grabbed the eggs and went to work.....

Then once all of the goods were hidden....the kids were turned loose!

Such a fun, fun and relaxing afternoon!

Thursday Thought.

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy,

they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

A leap of faith.

Sometimes -

when the going is tough...
when you don't know how it all will end...
when the world is spinning...
when the choices aren't crystal clear...
when it's a bit (or a lot) scary...

You just have to jump.

Take a leap of faith.

And know that He's watching out for you.

To make sure you land on your feet.

And with a smile on your face.

PS - Thanks Jace & Kristi for the phone call last night. Here's to many more!

To just be me.

I thought I left the tornadoes in Nebraska.....

I knew that the first week back was going to be hectic and chaotic and crazy.

And it was.

But for this being my third {first week}, it was surprisingly calm{er}.

...I didn't get butterflies the first day.

...I remembered new people's names.

...I didn't worry about being the new/young/female manager.

I just was {me}.

I took on too much.

I probably talked too loud and too much.

But I tried to care, I tried to answer questions and I tried to manage.

As best I could.

And you know what? If I could, I don't think I'd have changed any of it.

..............

A few things have helped keep me sane this last week, and if for no other reason than to remember them as I look back at this post months or years down the road, they are:

* You are heaven's Halley's comet; we have one shot at seeing you shine. You offer a gift to society that no one else brings. If you don't bring it, it won't be brought. - Max Lucado, Cure for the Common Life

* Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.

..............
