To just be me.

I thought I left the tornadoes in Nebraska.....

I knew that the first week back was going to be hectic and chaotic and crazy.

And it was.

But for this being my third {first week}, it was surprisingly calm{er}.

...I didn't get butterflies the first day.

...I remembered new people's names.

...I didn't worry about being the new/young/female manager.

I just was {me}.

I took on too much.

I probably talked too loud and too much.

But I tried to care, I tried to answer questions and I tried to manage.

As best I could.

And you know what? If I could, I don't think I'd have changed any of it.

..............

A few things have helped keep me sane this last week, and if for no other reason than to remember them as I look back at this post months or years down the road, they are:

* You are heaven's Halley's comet; we have one shot at seeing you shine. You offer a gift to society that no one else brings. If you don't bring it, it won't be brought. - Max Lucado, Cure for the Common Life

* Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.

..............

And as the booklet on the dining room table keeps filling, so do the blessings that surround us in everyday life...

885. Caps for a {play} pistol.
886. An afternoon filled with sunshine.
887. Dinners planned.
888. Falling into bed each night knowing that I'm right where I'm meant to be.
889. Learning from those all around me.
890. Seeing kind words make a difference.
891. Running fast.

892. A great first week at work.
893. A pile of files on my desk...I don't think I'd like it any other way.
894. Help from all around.
895. One on one meetings.
896. A day off.
897. Playing in the Playland at McDonalds.
898. Sunshine on a Saturday.
899. A great crew to work cows with.
900. Even better....a crew that likes to ride....so that I didn't. :)

901. Good "eats".
902. $1 drinks.
903. Walking into a perfectly functioning system at Hamby's.
904. A puppy who loves his belly scratched.
905. Catching up with my mom.
906. A quiet dinner at 10:30 with Clint.
907. Daffodils.
908. A 3 year old's clapping hands.
909. Quiet conversations.
910. Clearance jeans.
911. Taxes finished, stamped and in the mail. Hooray!
912. Grocery shopping at night with Clint.
913. Rest.
914. A {hopefully} great first day at Double M for my husband.
