2nd Annual Wedding - Video

Shannon Boettcher, from Foto Novella, did our wedding pictures and did an AMAZING job!

And it was neat that both Clint & I knew her as a friend previously.

She was nice enough to leave us with a video of a few {sneak peaks}.

So thank you Shannon! We can't wait to see the rest of pictures!

2nd Annual Wedding

Loved.
Blessed.
Cared for.
Thought of.
Special.

We've felt all of these things & more to the nth degree this past month.

Some may have noticed, but my posting has been a bit scarce....

you could say I've been a bit busy. ;)

..............

We had our {2nd annual} wedding on June 18th.

See Clint and I were 'technically' married last year on June 18th, 2010.

But with the move to Nebraska, new jobs, and not having a ton of time to plan, we'd always known we'd have a big celebration on June 18, 2011.

And so we did! Despite the pouring rain & revised plans, we had ourselves a party;

I'll post the 'official' ones when I get them, but I sure loved looking through these on the CD that arrived at my office today!

So many thanks to our wonderful friends & family - we couldn't have pulled it off without you!

Here's to looking forward to the 3rd annual wedding celebration next year - rain or shine!

Bridezilla or Not?

I always thought to myself...

"I won't be one of those brides."

You know the ones -

The ones who obsess.
The ones who stress about every detail.
The ones who get mad.

And while I don't think I've turned into Bridezilla quite yet, I'd be fibbing if I told you I haven't been a bit stressed over this whole shin-dig.

So this morning, when I flipped the page on my daily calendar and read:

...........

"Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you." - 1 Peter 5:7

God has a great race for you to run. Under his care you will go where you've never been and serve in ways you've never dreamed. But you have to drop some stuff. How can you share grace if you are full of guilt? How can you offer comfort if you are disheartened? How can you lift someone else's load if your arms are full with your own?

For the sake of those you love....for the sake of the God you serve...for the sake of your own joy, travel light. There are certain weights in life you simply cannot carry....Set them down and trust him.

~From Traveling Light by Max Lucado

...........

My shoulders eased a bit.

And while Max probably wasn't writing for a bride who's expecting 200+ guests next week, and is worried about chair counts, and making programs, and will the dress fit?!?!...

His words made a difference in my {world} today.

So what is it that you're worrying about?

And can the same words help ease your burden?

I can just say this....

Life is fleeting. Go enjoy it now.

The petty things don't matter.
Money doesn't matter.
Drama doesn't matter.

People matter.
Laughter - wild & crazy laughter - matters.
Hugs and kisses matter.
Friendships matter.
Love matters.
Spending time making relationships and memories matters.

Go live.
Go love.
Go make a difference.

Because some day we won't be able to.

For some of us, in our eyes, that day comes sooner than expected.

Cancer will spread.
An accident will happen.

So go.
Make your days...
and your life...
matter.
