Bridezilla or Not?

I always thought to myself...

"I won't be one of those brides."

You know the ones -

The ones who obsess.
The ones who stress about every detail.
The ones who get mad.

And while I don't think I've turned into Bridezilla quite yet, I'd be fibbing if I told you I haven't been a bit stressed over this whole shin-dig.

So this morning, when I flipped the page on my daily calendar and read:

...........

"Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you." - 1 Peter 5:7

God has a great race for you to run. Under his care you will go where you've never been and serve in ways you've never dreamed. But you have to drop some stuff. How can you share grace if you are full of guilt? How can you offer comfort if you are disheartened? How can you lift someone else's load if your arms are full with your own?

For the sake of those you love....for the sake of the God you serve...for the sake of your own joy, travel light. There are certain weights in life you simply cannot carry....Set them down and trust him.

~From Traveling Light by Max Lucado

...........

My shoulders eased a bit.

And while Max probably wasn't writing for a bride who's expecting 200+ guests next week, and is worried about chair counts, and making programs, and will the dress fit?!?!...

His words made a difference in my {world} today.

So what is it that you're worrying about?

And can the same words help ease your burden?

  1. Darcy, I just wanted to send you blessings and well wishes as your special day comes closer! You will enjoy every minute of the day with family and friends and all the little things and stresses will not even be a thought. I love the way you are able to take other's wisdom and apply it to your own life, as well as the way you truly trust in the Lord! Congratulations on the big day and may the Spirit be watching over you throughout your whole marriage. Katie Hennessy
