4 on the 4th of July

Normally, this is my "5 on Friday" post, but since it's the Fourth of July, we'll celebrate with four items.

Plus, I couldn't think of a fifth, and it was either think of something, or take a nap.

The nap won.  :)

1. Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July friends!

I'm so proud to be an American, and live in the greatest country in the world.  But freedom isn't free, and I'm thankful to our active and retired members of the miltary who so bravely put their lives on the line, so that we may continue to enjoy our freedom.

2. Favorite 4th of July Printable

I've had this free printable hanging on my office door for the past two weeks.  I may just decide to leave it up after the 4th, I love it so much.
3. The Perfect 4th of July Beverage

Have you seen the new Rubbermaid Carb-X containers?  I drink a lot of iced tea at work, and when I saw these bad boys at Safeway last week for less than $10, I picked up one for my mini-fridge at work.  They hold 1.9 L, or 64 oz, which is the perfect size for TAZO's iced tea bags.  I just fill mine halfway with hot water (we have a hot tap at work, but you could boil or microwave water) and let the tea bag soak for 3-5 minutes.  Then I just remove the tea bag, and fill the container with ice.  I store it in my little fridge next to my desk, and throughout the day just refill my cup with cold iced tea.  Using this container is an easy way to visualize how much water I drink a day (I count iced tea as water, ha!) because I make myself drink the entire thing before I leave work.

I really like this container because it's a great size, it fits in a mini fridge, it's easy to hold (the curve in the middle doesn't allow it to slip out of your hands), the top doesn't leak even when you turn it upside down and it pours cleanly - no dribbling!    How easy would it be to pack one of these filled with your favorite beverage on a 4th of July picnic?  I bought mine at Safeway, in the same area as the disposable plates, silverware, etc.  I imagine other stores would have it too.

If you like iced tea - my favorites right now are TAZO's Iced Citrus Bliss (these only come in the large iced tea bag size) and TAZO Passion & Wild Sweet Orange tea.  I like to use one bag of Passion and one bag of Wild Sweet Orange and brew them together to make a batch of blended tea - try it, I bet you'll like it!  And the great thing about these three teas is that they're not caffeinated, and have a nice fruity flaver.  Plus they're both red(ish), and festive for the holiday!

4.  4th of July WINNER!

Congratulations to Sarah for winning the giveaway this week!

Sarah, will you message me your address and I'll get your makeup & jewelry in the mail Monday.

Jewel Kade's Vault Sale is still going on - details, and some of my favorite items, can be found in this post.

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!

We bred a few cows and {wrangled} a few cows this morning, and then we're relaxing this afternoon before we head into the PBR Performance at the Pendleton Round Up Grounds tonight.  Then Sunday we're headed to Wallowa to preg check the heifers.

What do you have planned for the holiday?
