Weekend recap.

We had such a nice weekend!

I just love the 4th of July, and it's even better when the holiday falls on a Friday!

Friday morning we bred a couple of heifers, and then wrangled a few heifers that had escaped their pasture and were touring the neighborhood.  :)  After a nice nap, we headed into the PBR performance.  Jill & Mike had invited us, and we had so much fun!  The PBR does a great job at entertaining the crowd, but after watching the mutton busting and a few bulls buck, we headed downstairs to visit and have a few drinks. I didn't want to lug my camera around, so the above are just simple cell phone pictures....also, a big thank you to Gina who drove for us, so that we could celebrate with our friends!

Saturday we slept in until 8:30 am.  We rarely have the chance to sleep in that late, so we took full advantage of our opportunity.  After a relaxing breakfast, we began to tackle a MASSIVE and much needed purge of items out of our bedroom.  Seven trash bags later, our bedroom is much more streamlined, all of our clothes have a home and all of the drawers to our dresser shut easily.  Isn't that the best feeling?

Everything that was piled got sorted....

And after this was gone, our bedroom is so much more organized!

We're not ones to waste things, but sometimes you just have to go through all of your stuff and remove the things that no longer have a useful life.  I mean, how many old t-shirts does one really need and how many years should you keep a sweatshirt you wore in high school?

Yes, I finally threw out my NHS Waterpolo sweatshirt with my #6 on the sleeve....I did have to think twice about it though.

I tackled PI premiums in the afternoon.  Ugh.  Calculating the premiums for PI is my least favorite job, but since we had such a quiet day I knew it was time to hunker down and crank them out.  I'll mail them to our treasurer Monday, and then she'll cut checks.  I'm glad to have that job behind me!

Sunday we headed to Wallowa to pull blood so we could preg check our heifers.

I'll post more about it this week, but the day went really well and we were so thankful for the extra help that we had.

How was your 4th of July weekend?
