5 on Friday.

Happy Friday friends!

I feel like this week has flown by, but not in a hectic crazy way - just in a "Oh gosh, it's Friday" kind of way.  And that is the best kind of feeling. :)

Today I thought I'd just post a few random things and link up with the always fun "Friday Favorites".

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Keep living the dream!

1. www.sexsoncharolais.com

I've owned the domain name above for a year now....but I only took the time to attach it to this little blog this week.  Isn't that the way some things go?   Hopefully I'll have time to update my header this weekend but for now you can reach this little space in {internet land} two ways - by using the same  www.sscharolais.blogspot.com as you've done in the past, or by typing in my new URL - www.sexsoncharolais.com.

Don't worry Grandma & Mel - you can still use the same link you've always used to get here.  :)

Both URL's will bring you here, to read about our little lives, living on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon.  Isn't technology neat? And have I told you lately, how glad I am that you are here?

Because I am. Thank you friends for stopping by.  :)

2. My favorite thought this week:

From Max Lucado:

Ulrich Swingli found himself at odds with Martin Luther.  Swingli did not know what to do until he saw two goats traversing a very narrow mountain path from opposite directions.  When they saw each other, they backed up and lowered their heads, as though ready to lunge.  But then....the ascending goat laid down and the other stepped over his back.  The first then arose and continued his climb to the top.

Zwingli observed that the goat made it higher because he was willing to bend lower.

Didn't the same happen to Jesus?

"So God raised him to the highest place.  God made his name greater than every other name so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus" (Philippians 2:9-10)

Love this.

3. A few new favorites from the #NAS

So the nice people at the post office have become VERY familiar with my face lately, as my boxes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale have rolled in.  Many have held Christmas presents (yay for getting half of my shopping done in JULY!) but let's be honest....a few have held fall wardrobe staple pieces for myself.  :)

At Bunco last night we were talking about the amazing-ness of the legging, palazzo pant and maxi skirt.  Seriously - these three items are God's gift to women to help us be comfortable in the fashion department.  Who doesn't love an elastic or drawstring waistband???

No one!

So I thought I'd share my favorite pair of leggings - Hue's Extrawide Waistband Legging.  I've been brave and worn these twice now!  They are super comfortable, have washed well so far, and are flattering.  (And right now they're on sale for less than $24!) You just have to make sure you wear them with a top that covers your hiney.  Because it's the rules.  ;)

Two of my favorite tops are the Caslon Knit Tunic and the Pleione Mixed Media Tunic - both are under $40, super comfortable and very flattering.  Can you tell I like to wear things that are comfortable?  The Caslon tunic is a knit, but somehow it's not hot to wear or clingy which are two reasons I normally stay away from knits.  The Pleione tunic is a silkier shirt that I wear with a long camisole underneath and it really looks polished.  Love, love, love these two tops - I've really had to practice some self restraint, because I want to order more in other colors I love them that much!

4. Friendships.

We are blessed with some pretty great friendships.  Friends who don't care what you look like, what time of day it is, or whether or not you've cleaned your house before they come over.  Friends who pick up things, check on things and will drink a cold beer with you after a long, hot day of work.  The other night when RJ stopped by to show us his new {horned ram} I had to capture the guys talking out in the driveway.  These two are like family to us, and it was time well spent.

I just wish I'd gotten a picture of RJ's ram (he was inside the trailer) - because his horns were pretty neat!

5. I love this life.

Seriously, we are blessed to get to live this lifestyle.

Plus, who else has this kind of view when they go to take out the trash? ;)

Happy Friday - enjoy the weekend!
