We had a meeting at the sale barn last night to discuss the bathroom we're putting in there, and Patsy said they had another set of twins over on their side of the freeway. That makes five sets this week. The recip cows are still having ET calves and the cows AI'ed to the Genex Progeny Test bulls are still calving as well. I'm looking forward to taking some time to go look at them this weekend.
Clint was able to pair out a bunch of the early calving pairs, and now they're hanging out in the field next to the calving barn (below).
2. Favorite Quote of the Week.
I flagged the 9/25 page in my Max Lucado desk calendar last year, and as I re-read it again this year - I still love it just as much.
In humility consider others better than yourselves. - Philippians 2:3
Columnist Rick Reilly gave this advice to rookie professional atheletes: "Stop thumping your chest. The line blocked, the quarterback threw you a perfect spiral while getting his head knocked off, and the good receiver blew the double coverage. Get over yourself." The truth is, every touchdown in life is a team effort. Applaud your teammates.
An elementary age boy came home from the tryouts for the school play. "Mommy, Mommy," he announced, "I got a part. I've been chosen to sit in the audience and clap and cheer." When you have a chance to clap and cheer, do you take it? If you do, your head is starting to fit your hat size
3. Favorite Treat.
I'm still loving Starbuck's Peach Green Tea Lemonades.....have you tried one yet? I'm usually frugal (aka - cheap) when it comes to stuff like that, but I am hooked hard.
4. Weekend Plans.
It's going to be a FUN weekend I think! Saturday I'm picturing some cattle for the BoBo Sale that will be hosted at the Double M Sale Facility on Oct. 29.
Then Sunday is the Crown Jewel Event at Gohr Angus & Herefords in Madras and I am super excited to head down there for that sale. Brad & Dawn are just the nicest people, and it's fun to attend their event. If you're looking for a 2015 show heifer - you need to be at this sale!
