It was the month I set my camera down, and rested.
We still AI'ed cattle, still watched wheat turn to gold, and still headed to Prineville for the PI.
But I also slept more, enjoyed evenings at home with Clint (instead of on the laptop working on blogs) and saw our house remodel begin to wrap up.
June was a great month - and I'm looking forward to sharing more of what happened during it, in July.

Cows and cowboys.

We had such a nice weekend at home.
Saturday morning was the NW Farm Supply jackpot show in town, and it was fun to watch the kids lead their steers in the ring.

That afternoon I braved Costco, and was rewarded with new planters for our newly poured concrete patio and a few odds and ends for the house.  I also picked up a flat of raspberries, and as I type these words they are all officially consumed.  :)
Sunday was one of our favorite days of the year - the annual Umatilla Cattlemens Father's Day picnic.  Karl and Jeanne hosted again up at their ranch in Ukiah, and it was the perfect day.

The guys fired delicious New York steaks on the grill, the ladies brought the most delicious salads and desserts and we all stuffed ourselves silly.  Hours of visiting and relaxing in our camp chairs ensued, and we didn't head home until close to 7:00 pm.

I always joke that the only way you can get a bunch of cattlemen to take the day off, is to guilt them into it by telling them that all of their friends are doing it.
Hope you all had a nice weekend wherever you are, and that you're living the dream!

5 years.

This man.
Gosh dang, I love him.
I love how hard he works, and how hard he loves.
I love the life we get to live together and all of the fun things we get to experience.
I love that I get to be his wife, and that I'm lucky enough to have him for my husband.
Happy 5th Anniversary Clint!
I love you.

Bonnie & Clyde.

For Jack & Deana's wedding last month, Clint asked our friends Lee & Mary Jean Wilson if we could borrow their team of horses and surrey.

They graciously said yes, and they were such a hit!
Don't be surprised if you see a different team of horses taking up residence at Double M in the future - Patsy loved them and I think is hooked on having a team here too.

The team brought Deana and the flower girls in, and took the newly married couple away from the ceremony!

The Wilson's team is comprised of a gelding & a mare, and their names are Bonnie and Clyde.
Isn't that adorable?
I'm not sure if they are siblings or not, but they look like it.
Bonnie is very patient.  Clyde is always ready to go.  Impatient sometimes, you might even say.  ;)

Clint taking the team on a dry run before hitching them up.
Mary Jean drives them in parades all over - even the Rose Parade.  So when Clint harnessed them for the first time here at the ranch, they acted like true professionals.  You could tell they had been driven a lot, and they were both VERY well mannered.  I told Clint if he'd have charged a $1 for a ride, he could have retired after the wedding.

I had the best time taking pictures of them, and thought I'd share here.  Thanks for letting me indulge in that.

Also, thank you to Tyler & Trevor who helped hitch up, and hold the team during the ceremony.  We appreciate your help guys!
And again - a BIG THANK YOU to Lee & Mary Jean for letting us borrow them!

PS - I'll end with one of my favorite pictures of Clint from this year.

He's relaxed, totally in his element and looking sharp in his hat.

What more could a girl wish for?

I drove thru the Starbucks drive thru this morning to pick up my Trenta Passion Tango Iced Tea (with no classic, and no water) and a Chonga bagel (loving these right now) and the gal who took my money asked me how my weekend was....
My one word answer?

And it really, truly was.
We went out to Ryan and Amy's to have dinner with them Friday night (Amy had knee surgery two weeks ago, and I hadn't been able to take out a meal) and we enjoyed an evening of pizza (fancy, I know), Apples to Apples Jr. and visiting.
Saturday morning I meant to wake up at 6:30, but ended up sleeping through my alarm and didn't wake up until 8:30.  Clint left early and needed a bit of help, so I pulled on some comfy clothes and headed out to meet him.  We moved cows, doctored a few head he'd brought in, filled water tanks and some other stuff.  Then he headed to Pilot Rock to do some things, and I took a two hour nap.
It was glorious.
And then I proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon doing a few house chores, watching a 3 hour behind the scenes episode of Deadliest Catch and picking up dinner from our local mexican restaurant.
If you live locally - you need to eat at El Erradero in Stanfield.  The nicest family owns it, and they make delicious food!  I'm a fan of their polla a la creama, and Clint loves their seafood burrito.

Sunday was more of the same.  We did stuff on the ranch in the morning while it was still semi-cool, and then took naps after lunch and relaxed at home.

It was HOT here this weekend and is supposed to be 103* again today so Clint's been getting up early so he can work/move cattle in the morning when it's cooler.   But otherwise, we've been taking it easy in the evening and just enjoyed having a weekend at home.

Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Hi there.
Gosh life has been good lately.
But it's also been a little busy.

And to be honest, I've been tired.  The pooped out kind of tired when you come home after work and take a 15 minute nap, just so you have enough energy to put the Papa Murphy's pizza you purchased on the way home in the oven so you have some sort of dinner - that kind of tired.
I know -
Call me wife of the year.
But it's probably a good thing we both like pizza.
And if I'm being REALLY honest, I've just kind of felt a bit burnt out.   On editing pictures, and taking pictures, and formulating words that really mean something and don't just take up space.
And I don't want to get burnt out on the blog or on taking photos.
Because I love both.

So I've just kind of stepped back for a little bit and I'm giving myself the permission to have space.  My posting may only be once or twice a week, but I'm not letting myself give it up.
Because I know myself - and I know that I love this blog, and after I get a few weeks of decent sleep,
I'll be right back in the game.
So thank you for grace.  And thank you for stopping by here.  :)
