Pam.

Dear Pam,

You have made this past year so easy, enjoyable and stress free.

When I went back to work after maternity leave with Chandler, for the first few weeks everyone kept asking me if I was having a hard time coming back to work - and my answer was always an easy "No".

And it was because of you. 💗

Every morning, bright & early, the Chan man and I would head your way and you'd always greet us outside the garage.  Chandler knew as we made the turns in, that we were at "Pam's".

As I'd pull out the driveway towards work, you'd stand at the sliding door with Chandler in your arms and wave goodbye.  It was so fun in the past weeks where he (finally 😍 ) started waving with you.  And when I'd come to get him in the early evenings - he was always so happy and you could tell he'd had a great day playing with you.

"Little man" is what you call Chandler, and it was so fun getting pictures texted to us during the day to show what he was doing.  We probably never told you how much Clint & I both appreciated that - but we did.

As he hit milestones, you always shared what he'd learned; but we knew you had a big part of it.  You are so good about teaching babies, and theirs parents too.  :)

Most of all - you love all of your babies, and we knew every day how much you loved Chandler.

Thank you for that.

You kept Chandler longer than other babies - and we were so appreciative.  I know he has gotten "busy" these past couple months, but we are so grateful for the extra time he got to spend with you.

We hope you enjoy your summer off - and we can't wait to see you again this fall with Baby #2!

We love you Pam - and we are so, so thankful for you.

💗 - Clint, Darcy & Chandler

Life lately & a really good lipstick.

Friends!  How are you this week?

This post is RANDOM - but it's our life lately, and I wanted to make sure a few memories live here on the blog.  :)

The weather here can't decide whether to be nice, or pouring down rain....but what is awesome about the aforementioned scenario is that our grass is growing like crazy and that means good feed for our cows.  Also - every time it rains, I just tell myself it's free irrigation water that we do not have to pay for.  What can I say - I'm a frugal gal at heart.  :)

However, the lipstick I'm about to tell you about is not frugal.  But it is totally, 100% worth it.  Yes - me, Darcy Sexson, is telling you to go spend $25 on a lipstick and to not worry.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Color Changing Lipstick

I bought mine at Nordstrom so that I didn't have to pay shipping, but you can buy it at Ulta too.  It feels like chapstick going on - which I love, and turns a nice pink color on me.  It's definitely not green!  :)

While we're on the topic of looking good - our accountant & friend Kristie Shasteen and her family are adopting another little boy from China this year!  To help with the adoption costs, she's hosting a Noonday Party here.  So I will be VERY honest here - I rarely, really never, participate in "parties".  See the "frugal gal" sentence above.  But I didn't hesitate to order these leather fringe earrings - because this is a small way I can help a great family, doing a really amazing thing.

And you can help too!  Just type in Kristie's name when it asks for a Trunk Show host and proceeds from your purchase go towards their adoption.

So in a totally different direction - Chandler has become quite the talker!  Except - he's not really specific with what he says.   We went in this week for his 15 month appointment due to a reschedule, and Dr. Earl was going thru his checklist of questions and asked if he could say 3-5 words....and I was like, "Ummmm....not really".  Haha - our sweet boy can say A LOT....see the video....but is he really specific?  No.  Are we worried?  Nope.  :)

Speaking of videos - here's another one of Chandler with a cup of ice.  Homeboy LOVES ice, and he spent a good 30 minutes on Easter Sunday just eating ice.  (He stayed on the rug, and since it was just water - he could spill to his heart's content.)

While we were AI'ing at 9 Mile last weekend, Lindsay, Mack & Mason came over and mowed our lawn.  (Mack loves to mow - so I asked Lindsay if we could hire him.....they said yes!)  Mason helped out too, Lindsay sent me this collage, and honestly it was the best gift to come home too.

We've hired our lawn out the last three years at Double M and it was one of those things that I didn't think I'd hire out after we moved.....but this time of year is just too busy, and if the boys are wanting to mow - I love that we can hire them.

Other than that - I'm just working and Clint is AI'ing cows and Chandler & I tag along when we can.  Baby boy #2 is growing well, and we're looking forward to meeting him in late June!

When we're home - we're really trying to soak up spending time with Chandler.  My sister Lindsay worked in Pendleton last Friday, so we got to see her Saturday and Chandler had a ball with Auntie Lindsay and his new water table.

So that's life lately....

Hope you're living the dream!  We sure are.  :)

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend!

We spent the weekend at home, and I took Chandler in Saturday to see the Easter bunny.  We have a photo shop here in town that did pictures with the Easter Bunny - it's inexpensive, they're fast (we maybe spent 5 minutes there total) and a great way to preserve memories.

Since he was dressed nicely, I took a few pictures of him when we got home too.  He is getting so big!

My cousin Alayna made his t-shirt and it says "Egg Hunter" with a pair of horns coming out of the egg - so cute!

PS - Dot & Chandler are the best of friends!  They really do love each other.  :)

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny came, and Chandler thought that was pretty fun!

Hope you all had a nice Easter too!

Chandler's 1st Haircut.

Chandler got his first haircut this weekend!

My mom was here visiting, and she does a great job so after breakfast on Saturday when Chandler was relaxed we went to it!

The Before Pictures:

He did so well - he was a little squirmy at first, mostly because I think he wanted to see what was going on behind him - but once I gave him my phone to watch, he settled down and was a champ!

The During Pictures:

My mom did a great job!  He looked so big once she was done, but I also love how he doesn't have a baby mullet anymore.  :)  She just cut the back and didn't cut the front, so he still looks like a baby.

Thanks Grandma for giving Chandler his first haircut!

Chander - 15 months.

You are 15 months old buddy!

We love you so much, and are just loving this stage right now.

The biggest news is that you started walking this month!

It still has to be your idea, but when you want to walk - you take off!

The other night we were at an FFA meeting, and you were walking all around the ag room - taking as many as 20-30 steps before you'd drop down and crawl.  You're pretty steady, probably because you took so long to walk.

You weigh 30 pounds, just started wearing a size 5 diaper and are in 2T clothes.  I hope we can keep you in 2T for a few months more - but I'm not sure - you have really gotten tall this month!

You have 12 teeth fully in, and your 4 eye teeth are making their way.  One has broken through, but the other three are taking their sweet time.  Drooling and multiple bibs/shirts per day has been the norm for a few weeks now.

You still love playing in the dishwasher, and have recently discovered that you can "cook" and stir with mommy's pots and pans that you pull from the bottom drawer.  You're great help at dinner - I cook at the stove, and you cook on the floor.

You still love playing in the bath!

It's funny - Grandma bought you fun bath toys for your birthday, but you'd rather play with a piece of chain (off of the bathtub drain plug), a wash cloth, a tooth brush and a measuring cup.  I'm sure as you get older you'll want "fancier" things - so for now, we're just enjoying that you like the simple things.

You love to look out windows, and wrap things around your neck.  Not all the way around your neck (yikes - that would scare me and we still watch you carefully), but you like something to be on the back of your neck.  Scarves are always a hit, along with long socks (like daddy's), stretchy hats and anything else that's soft and easy to throw over.

We're still working on getting your room set up (hopefully we'll get that done this weekend) but we made space for you to play and pull out toys - and while it's usually a mess, you are great at playing independently.  You like anything that plays music, your popper that you push, and your Schleich cows.
I feel like I say this every month - but you are just so content to be outside and on the go.  We love that we can take you to an all day branding, or work outside, or run errands - and you just keep up and are happy to be along.

You love to play in the dirt/mud/rocks - and honestly, you stay pretty clean and are just content to pick up and move rocks or dirt clods, or put them in a baggie and dump them out.

We love you Chandler!  Thanks for being such a great son to us!
