Loving Lately.

Happy Friday!!!!  It has been a long week (thank you Daylight Savings) but Friday is here and I'm looking forward to my alarm clock not going off at 4:30 am tomorrow morning.  :)

I thought I'd post a few things I'm loving lately, and a few pictures of the boys (who I love all of the time) and wish you a happy weekend.

1. 3 Wick Candles

I think it can be overwhelming going into Bath & Body Works, and I am for sure not taking two small boys into BBW.  ;)  My friend Haley posted a picture of her new home on FB a while ago, and I saw she had a 3 wick in the picture....Haley has awesome taste, and so when she told me it was the only scent she buys, I knew it was a good one and ordered the Mahogany Teakwood High Intensity 3 Wick Candle.  IT IS AMAZING.  I've been burning it every night after work and it just fills out house with a great fresh, aroma that is both masculine and fruity at the same time.  If I'd read the description I would have never bought it.....but I am so glad I did!

The Midnight Blue Citrus is a nice scent too, but much less intense.  Which may be a positive for some, but I like a candle with a punch.  :)  I was hoping the Midnight Blue Citrus would smell like the Capri Blue Volcano candle  (which is AMAZING...and also expensive, lol) and it is similar, but not the same.  However, if I was a die hard Volcano lover, looking for a less expensive option, I think this would be totally up your alley.

And the 3 wick candles are on sale today for $13, and an extra $10 off your order of $30 which is A DEAL!!!  A co-worker said she loves the Endless Summer scent, so I ordered one of those and some others for Easter gifts.  :)

2. Safeway Monopoly

If you're playing Monopoly, you're probably in the same boat as I am....your game board is filled up, except for the rare pieces.  :)  It's been fun playing this year and Chandler likes to too - I give him the game pieces I already have when he's in the bath and he sticks them to the edge of the tub.  Clean up is super easy, and it keeps him busy.

Are you playing too?

3. Bunco

I got to play Bunco with my group this week (we went from playing monthly to quarterly) and it was fun to see the girls!  I really noticed a change in my outlook afterwards....I don't get a lot of free time where I'm not at work, or managing kids and so it was super nice to just have 2 hours to visit, enjoy a drink (see the recipe below) and roll dice.

Bunco Punch by Dallas
1 1/2 cup lemon rum
6 limes, juiced
1/2 cup mint leaves, crushed
1/2 cup sugar
Seltzer Water or Tonic to taste (probably 2+ cups)

Mix & pour over ice - SO refreshing!

4. All things SPRING!

Oh man, I am normally not a Spring DLS type person (I like it when I leave for work in the light and DLS kind of kills that) but it has been awesome having more light at night with the boys.  This week I've been making more things that require baking vs cooking (Beecher's Mac & Cheese, lasagna, etc.) and so when we get home I stick whatever it is in the oven and then we head out to play, go for a walk, or help Clint feed cows.  Normally it's a rush to get home and get all of the things done, but the extra daylight has us staying up a bit later and just enjoying {home}.

What are you loving this week?

Happy Friday!

We have a fun weekend ahead; a bull sale, a birthday party and family pictures on my side.

Fresh air.

Spring is in the air and I am LOVING it!

So are the boys.  :)

We really took advantage of the nice weather this weekend.  We played outside and ran errands on Saturday, and then spent all day Sunday outside working cows or putting CIDRs in at Proudfoot's.

And as much as I don't care for the Spring time change (why hello new perceived 9:30 pm bedtime for Chandler, lol) if the silver lining is getting to play outside while dinner is cooking, I guess I will take that.  :)

How's the weather where you are?

Weekly wins.

This week FLEW by and I'm wrapping up this post on my way home from the Rollin' Rock Bull Sale.  We were excited for our friends Ryan & Amy to host their bull sale with partners Beau & Kristen and Bill & Jennifer.  They did a ton of work getting ready to host this sale in a brand new facility, and sell bulls through the ring that they developed themselves in a new feedlot.  Ryan & Amy are detailed oriented, work hard and are great friends; we were excited for them to have a tremendous sale

Katie said she wouldn't be in a selfie. ..but I caught her looking. :)

This morning before I headed out to the sale, I jotted down a few wins from this week....

Chandler & His Hat.
Chandler thinks wearing a hat is so fun.  I think this is because when he helps Clint feed cows, Clint puts a hat on him and is also wearing a hat.  He adores Clint and so of course he loves getting to look just like him.  When Chandler is wearing a hat, he always points to his head and says "Nee, Nee" (me, me) and he wants you to see that he's wearing a hat like dad.  Tuesday morning I had a dentist appointment in the morning, so we left the house a little later than normal so Chandler got dressed at home (I normally take him to Kelley's in PJ's and she dresses him) and Clint was home so Chandler got to choose a hat to wear.  He was STOKED.

Home boy likes a bink.  ;)
When I picked him up later, Kelley said he wore his hat proudly all day.

Time with the Boys.
Monday night when I got home from work & picked up the boys, it was still light out so we grabbed snacks & bundled up to check on A440 and her calf.  Playing in the barn is one of Chandler's favorite things to do so he was thrilled to head out.

Clint had pulled A440's calf Sunday night - he probably could have waited, but she was dinking around and it was getting late - I tell people that we take raising cows seriously, but it's not our livelihood.  I had seen her break her water while she was up at the feeder (versus laying down getting serious about having a calf, ha ha) when I'd gotten home so I penned her in the alley to see if she'd lay down and get serious.  She didn't so since it was late and had been an hour or so since her water broke, Clint just got her in to check her and ended up just pulling her calf.  She had a nice bull calf and has been really gentle with all of us around her.

Clint was in Baker looking thru the Harrell & Thomas bulls on Monday and wasn't going to be home until late that night.  He said he'd check her when he got home, but I wanted to help him out so we just headed out to fill her water, feed her some hay and make sure the calf had sucked.  I was pretty sure he had, but she has a lot of milk and I wanted to make sure so we put her in the calving stall and let her calf suck for awhile.

People make fun of Charolais cattle for not having milk....I'd invite them to come see A440, ha ha.  We cull pretty heavily for milk production; in fact Clint pulled calves off of and shipped two first calf heifers last week who calved and didn't milk enough for him.  I was joking with him that after having a baby (and going thru the frustrations of nursing) that I felt for the heifers, but they still went down the road.  Luckily I didn't get shipped after nursing & supplementing Chandler or Calvin with bottles.  ;)

While I was working on A440 and her calf, Chandler was working on pushing hay around with his fork and Calvin hung out in the stroller eating Ritz crackers.  I got done and let them out, and then "helped" Chandler push hay over to the pair.

That's just a little look at our week.  I'm looking forward to the sale today, a run to Costco tomorrow (did you see my post Wednesday???) and then a quiet day at home Sunday as we *hopefully* can adjust to Daylight Savings.

How was your week?  What were your wins?

Leave a comment by Friday, March 16 and I'll choose one person to send them a little something to at the end of next week.

Costco for the win.

"Hi, my name is Darcy and I have zero will power when browsing"

GAH.  Anyone else like that?  I shouldn't even look there, but then I'll need to order diapers, or wipes, or paper towels and it just becomes a downward spiral as I check out their "What's New" section.  So I'm going to own it, and today I thought I'd share a few things that I am loving lately from Costco.  Because sharing is caring.  :)

It's really too bad Costco doesn't pay for advertising.  Lol - I bet I could quit my day job.

So I have the WORST cracked heels ever known to man.  For real - I'd enter them in a contest.  And I've basically just given up on them, but I saw a blogger do a post about Baby Feet wraps and it intrigued me.  However, my cracked heel self is also very frugal and one of those wraps is $20.  These wraps from Costco are 6 for $29 so I gave them a whirl.  I wore one Sunday night, so I haven't seen the full results yet (I think my feet are going to peel like a snake) but right now my feet feel a ton smoother so if that's all that happens, I'll count that as a win.

And if it takes care of my heels in 2-3 week like it's supposed to I will be snatching up more of these puppies!

Embryolisse Moisturizer
I saw a few YouTube videos from Andreea Ali and I really like watching her.  She did a video on her beauty basic must haves, and when she was talking about moisturizer she talked about La Mer and this one.  La Mer is CRAZY expensive so I figured this one was too and didn't even look into it, but then I saw Costco had it and I carted it.  It's on my way today and I can't wait to try it out!

And of course it has already sold out on Costco - you can find it here though.
Hopefully that means it's good.

I also really love Clinique's Moisture Surge in the winter time - you can find it here in stock.

If you like Huggies diapers, Costco is the best value that I've found.  They ship fast, and go on sale 3-4 times per year.  They actually just came off of a sale, so Costco doesn't have hardly any sizes in stock as I type this (and I need a box of 6's - haha the struggle is real) but I think in a week or two they will.

Conni bed pads
Speaking of kid's stuff - if you have littles, you need to check these out.  We're not potty training Chandler yet, but I bought them in anticipation of that, and ended up putting one on his bed for if/when his diaper leaks at night.  They are excellent quality and lay really well on the bed.  If anything though, I would say they run a little warm/do not breathe well.  Chandler doesn't like to sleep with covers on, so the heat thing isn't an issue for us.

Denim Jacket
This is just cute.  And $20.  And it comes in 3 colors and plus sizes.

I want all of the colors, but am trying to show I just ordered the denim.  ;)

Roll Cuff Tee

I haven't gotten these yet in the mail, but have ordered the blue and gray.  I have my fingers crossed that they are going to be an awesome $12 tee to run errands in on the weekends this spring.

So there are my Costco finds for this month.  What are you eyeing?

And if I didn't have a budget - I'd probably have this and these shipping to me.  But I have a budget.  You probably do too....I think everyone does.  :)  At least we're all in it together.

Home Depot Workshop & the Weekend

Oh Monday.

Anyone else struggle with getting out of bed this morning, ha ha?

I actually slept thru my alarm - but never fear, I also have an 8 month old who woke me up and needed a bottle at 4:18 am so I was only 8 minutes behind. ;)

We had a great weekend! We went to the kid's workshop at Home Depot on Saturday and Chandler got to build a periscope. I wasn't sure how he'd do, since he's only 2 but he LOVES to hammer things at home, and it's free, so we gave it a shot. Home boy was a FAN. And the guys driving the fork lifts in the aisle over was icing on Chandler's cake.

I went and got a haircut and sorely needed color afterwards and then hit up a garage sale after since Clint had the boys....and I scored a new pair of Les Schwab snow chains for $5!  I don't know what tire size they are, ha ha, but I figured for $5 if they don't fit my car or van which each have different sized tires, then I was only out $5.  ;)

Clint wanted to do some weed maintenance around the fences when I got home, and it was nice enough that we all headed out.  Chandler rode with Clint in the skidsteer for a while, but when he realized I had goldfish crackers, he chose to hang out with me for awhile.

Sunday we headed out to Pilot Rock to see the Raymond clan and the boys had a GREAT time playing out there.  They have made HUGE progress on the sale barn and they are on target to have a bull sale there this Friday, March 9!

Amy was getting "Barb" used to the building - the boys halter broke her and are selling her in the sale - she's a good one!

We came home to A440 calving, but she was dinking around and wouldn't lay down so I put her in the alley and then called Clint (who was still in PR) and he came home to pull her.  A new bull calf with a bottle & a half of milk in him was how we ended the evening.

We're living the dream - hope you are too!
