We did our normal routine again this year for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving day we spent the morning working on cow stuff and then enjoyed Thanksgiving lunch with Terry and Anna Francis and heir family. Jenny, Justin and the kids were roping in Arizona so it was a pared down crew, but still a fun one.  We are, played Ticket to Ride and only had to leave when I heard Chandler say “Awww, mess”.

It should be noted that Chandler reserves this phrase for really good messes, and I soon found out that while I thought he was watching a movie with Clint and Cal in the living room, he was actually washing his hands (his new favortotask) with the water full bore, the sink drain in the stop position and a hand towel also plugging the sink for good measure.

Luckily Terry and Anna have linoleum in the bathroom, and the flood was mostly contained to the counter top and Chandlers clothing. ;) He was soaked, but the extra water was quickly cleaned and home we went.

I worked Friday and then we headed to the coast that night to join my family in Pacific City. My mom, sister and her husband love the beach and every other year or so we rent a house and spend the holiday there.  My brother and his girlfriend came too, and we hit the beach after breakfast on Saturday.

The boys loved it!

Chandler climbed all the way to the top of Cape Kiawanda with my mom, Lindsay and Henry while Clint, Cal and I made it two thirds of the way up. Cal was insistent in climbing it himself and would flop around when I’d try to pick him up and carry him, so we went at his pace and enjoyed the view.

Chandler was so proud that he could wave to us from the top, and talked about it all the way home.

We played around in the sand and surf for awhile before heading back to the house for lunch and naps and a brisket dinner later on.

No turkey for us, please. We eat beef. ;)

We headed home the next morning after a failed attempt at family pictures. I’ve chosen to get over that effort and remember instead the fun hands of 5 Crowns we played the night before. :)

Hope you and yours had a nice Thanksgiving too!

For those interested - we stayed in Pacific City.  Lindsay, Henry and my mom love it there (and will probably one day own a house there) so that's where we always go.  I love the pizza there, the onion rings from Pelican, and the easy beach access.  We normally stay in a rental from Shore Pine, but due to it being the Thanksgiving weekend they were requiring a 3 night stay, and we were only there for 2 so we booked through AirBnB.  The house we had was ok; but I'd probably stick with Shore Pine in the future.  The parking at the AirBnB place was fabulous though - and we could easily park 4 cars, which is rare for a PC rental.
