Alive in Action

The Oregon FFA State Convention was in Hermiston this past weekend. Over 2500 FFA members, parents, advisors and volunteers were in town showing how FFA members are "Alive in Action".

FFA holds a special place in my heart, and has been a big part in making me "me", so it's fun to get to volunteer during state convention.

Saturday and Sunday I helped AJ's sell convention apparel - and had the BEST time!

Plus, while everyone my age was running around in suits and dresses (normal advisor & PSO attire), since I was helping sell t-shirts - I got to model them!

And seriously - who doesn't want to experience convention in a t-shirt and running shoes?

So we all - Anna, Jenny, Amy, Jill, Hannah & Alecia - got our swag on, and had a fun (though long) weekend selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and hats.

The kids LOVED the selection....and the option to put their name/chapter/office on their shirts or pants. Great work AJ's!

Congratulations to Zech Hintz & Garrett Kitamura!

They were elected to the 2012-2013 State Officer team, and I just know they're going to have an awesome year serving Oregon FFA!

Although these last two pictures are poor quality - blame the photographer! - I wanted to make sure I included them. Zech (top) is from Heppner, and Garrett (bottom - singing "La Bomba" during the talent contest) is from Ontario. Garrett's older brother Brian & I were state officers on the same team WAY back in 2001-2002. Congrats to both of you!
