Christmas in the Country!

I mentioned in late November that I was taking part in this year's "Christmas in the Country" where Ag bloggers are paired with other Ag bloggers for a little secret Santa fun.

Chelsea O'Brien who blogs at BoilerMakerAg was my Secret Santa this year and her gift was so fun!

And useful.  I'm all about useful.  :)

Chelsea sent me a beautiful arm-knitted infinity scarf that she knitted herself, a calendar, cookie cutters with a family recipe, notebook and cute sign.
The super soft scarf Chelsea sent will get it's fair share of wear here this winter!  It is perfect for keeping me warm when I'm feeding cows.
Don't mind my hair below - freezing rain & hoods aren't exactly two key ingredients to cute hair.

But the scarf is fabulous!

She also sent this cute little notebook that will be perfect as we head into calving.  I'll be keeping calving records in style!

How 100% appropriate is this sign?

It's already hanging in my kitchen.  I had to take it down to get a picture.  :)

Chelsea also sent me this cute monthly calendar filled with historic Indiana images.  Indiana is her home state, and I don't know if she knows - but I've spent my fair share of time in Indiana when I was working for National FFA in college, so it's totally appropriate!
I've had the same calendar at my desk at work for three years, and was thinking about getting a new one.  But there was nothing wrong with the one I had, and those that know me know I'm cheap and don't really buy "extra" things - so Chelsea took care of the decision for me!
A new calendar for the win in 2015!
Thank you again Chelsea for your wonderful gifts.
And for those reading who don't know Chelsea, be sure to check out her blog about all things Ag & Indiana!
I was paired with Jennifer at Heim Dairy and hoped she enjoyed the gifts I sent.
I wanted to also thank this year's hosts:
Laurie @ Country Linked

  1. What a wonderful gift from Chelsea! The scarf does look so cozy and I love that she made it.

Thank you so much for joining this year Darcy. I happen to know Jennifer loved her gift!

    All the best,
    Laurie - Country Link

  2. Looks like a lot of fun. Sorry I didn't find out about it until now, I didn't really pay attention to what it was on Ranch Wife. Something to look forward to for next year. I enjoyed finding your blog.

  3. Darcy,
    Looks like Chelsea did good!

J's Aunt made me a scarf just like that. It is soft.

Notebooks and calendars are fun, useful and something that will make you think of Chelsea and Indiana all year round.

In general conversation I have mentioned that having someone come clean my house in late March, April and May would be a great gift idea. I'm not holding my breath, but may need that sign as a reminder for J. lol!

Thank you for participating in this year's gift exchange.

  4. What a great gift. I make those arm knitted scarves also and sent one to my person too, must be the cool thing ;) Funny how little things like calendars can come at the right time and make your day huh? Thanks for participating and sharing!

  5. I think the housework sign should be my motto! Happy new year.
