Visiting family in Nebraska.
The second half of our road trip allowed us to see almost all of Clint's family.
After leaving Bismarck, we headed south to Gordon where his dad and Mel live. Robbie, Kristi and the kids came up and we had a really nice evening with everyone.
Dave & Mel moved right after we moved home from Nebraska, but we'd never had a chance to see their new place. That was remedied last week, and it really is a nice home and they seem to be settling in. Before dinner, we had everyone jump in a group picture!
After Robbie, Kristi, Jacobi & Jace went home, Mel and I were trying to figure out if Chandler looked like Clint as a baby, so we sorted through old pictures.
How cute is this one of Clint (second from left) and his siblings????
Chandler was a big baby (9 lbs, 5 oz) and since I weighed less than 8 lbs, I figured he got the birthweight from Clint. (Clint couldn't remember what he'd weighed as a baby.) But after seeing his birth announcement, I think he actually weighed less than me!
The next morning we woke up and headed south to Ogallala to meet Clint's grandma, aunts & uncles and cousins for lunch.
The Sandhills are still beautiful! Driving through them brought back a lot of good memories from when we lived there....
And it was so neat that Chandler got to meet his Great Grandma Yvonne!
Now he's been held by both living great grandmas - my mom's mom, and Clint's dad's mom.
After spending the afternoon in Ogallala, we headed west and had dinner in Cheyenne with Clint's mom, sister and her family. It was fun to see Delco - he's grown since we last saw him.
But I guess that's what kids do. :)
After dinner, we said our goodbyes and kept heading west. We stayed the night in Rawlins, and then woke up semi-early to make the rest of the drive home. The last day (Tuesday) was our longest drive of the trip, but this guy handled it like a champion!
Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming & Utah.
Chandler's now been to ten states (including our trip to Iowa in May) in just his first five months of life and has proven to be a great little traveler.
We couldn't ask for a better baby!
